Getting Started with the Prelist Bulk-Editor for Etsy

1. Connect Your Etsy Shop

Before you can edit anything, Prelist needs permission to talk to Etsy.

  1. Go to Profile → Add Shop → Etsy.

  2. Click Connect Shop and complete the Etsy OAuth flow.

  3. Once connected, you’ll see the shop listed under “Manage Shops.”

Troubleshooting: If you have multiple Etsy shops, be sure the correct shop is active in the menu on the top of the screen on the listings page.

2. Refresh Your Listings (as needed)

Prelist pulls in the latest data from Etsy when you first connect—but Etsy edits made after that won’t show up automatically.

  • Click Refresh Listings in the upper-right toolbar.

  • You can refresh once every 15 minutes (Etsy’s API rate-limit).

  • Only refresh after you’ve made changes directly on Etsy; otherwise you’re just burning your refresh window. Prelist will prompt you if we think you need to refresh your listings.

3. Quickly Selecting Listings

How

What to Know

Click & Drag

Hold your mouse button, drag across rows to highlight a block of listings—much faster than checkbox-clicking one by one.

Select All

The master checkbox in the header toggles every listing currently filtered/visible.

Limit

You can work with up to 500 listings at a time. If you hit that ceiling, finish your edits, click Update, then grab the next batch.

4. Quick Actions (One-Click Bulk Tasks)

Action

What It Does

Change Status

Toggle multiple listings between Active, Draft, or Inactive.

Change Section

Move listings into the correct Etsy Shop Section.

Delete Listings

Permanently remove items from Etsy. (This cannot be undone—use with care.)

5. Bulk-Edit Mode (The Main Event)

  1. Select the listings you want to edit (see Section 3).

  2. Click Bulk Edit. A side-panel opens, showing every editable field.

  3. Edit Individually

    • Click the text or dropdown inside any row to tweak a single listing.

  4. Edit Globally

    • Type or choose a value in the panel header—Prelist will preview the change across the entire selection.

  5. Press “Publish”

    • Nothing is sent to Etsy until you hit Publish (upper-right).

    • Prelist confirms the number of listings that will be changed—double-check, then proceed.

Heads-Up: If you navigate away or close the browser tab before clicking Publish, your pending edits are discarded.

6. What Can I Bulk-Edit?

Pretty much everything Etsy exposes via its API:

  • Core Details: Title, Description, Tags, Materials, SKU, Pricing, Quantity.

  • Shipping: Profile, Origin, Processing Time, Zip Code.

  • Variations: Sizes, Colors, Personalization prompts.

  • SEO Tweaks: Listing language, who-made, when-made, taxonomy changes.

  • Media: Update featured images or move photo positions in bulk.

7. Best Practices & Pro Tips

Tip

Why It Matters

Filter First

Use the search bar + Filters dropdown to narrow down to only the listings you intend to touch. Cleaner, safer edits.

Stagger Refresh & Edits

Do your bulk change, publish, then wait to refresh again so you don’t waste the 15-minute timer.

Use Sections Strategically

Bulk-move seasonal items into a “Sale” section, then edit prices globally—minutes saved.

Test on a Small Batch

New to Prelist? Try 5 listings, confirm the results on Etsy, then proceed with larger groups.

8. Next Steps

  • Need advanced workflows? Check out Quick Actions + Filters combos for near-instant housekeeping (inspiration: Vela’s community examples on bulk editing).

  • Review carefully. Etsy does not keep a historical version of your listings. Be sure your edits are correct before you publish them.

  • Questions? Email us at support@prelist.io or hit the in-app chat—our team is here to help.

Now you’re ready to blitz through 500 listings at a time—happy editing!
