3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Provide and maintain the Services. Authenticate you, sync listing data, process edits and uploads, and save your settings.

  2. Process payments and manage subscriptions. Issue invoices, verify transactions, and handle upgrades, downgrades, or refunds.

  3. Improve, troubleshoot, and develop new features. Analyze usage patterns, run A/B tests, fix bugs, and optimize performance.

  4. Communicate with you. Send transactional emails (e.g., security alerts, shipping‑profile changes), respond to support requests, and—where you have consented—send newsletters or product announcements.

  5. Protect the Services. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activities, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain the integrity and security of our systems.

  6. Comply with legal obligations. Maintain tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests by public authorities, and meet other regulatory requirements.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), Prelist’s legal bases for processing your personal information are:

  • Contractual Necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process data to provide the Services you request.

  • Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). We have a legitimate interest in improving and securing our Services and sending limited communications, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). We rely on consent for optional cookies or marketing emails. You may withdraw consent at any time.

  • Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). We process certain data to comply with laws (e.g., tax regulations).

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only as described below:

  1. Service Providers. Hosting (Framer, Digital Ocean), database (Digital Ocean), payment processing (Stripe), analytics (Google Analytics), and email delivery (Postmark) providers that process data on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality requirements.

  2. Integrated Platforms. When you connect a shop, we share and receive data via that platform’s API (e.g., Etsy, Printify, Shopify) according to the scopes you approve.

  3. Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations.

  4. Legal & Safety. To comply with applicable laws, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Prelist, our users, or others.

We may publish aggregated, de‑identified statistics (e.g., “average time to bulk‑upload products”) that cannot reasonably be linked to any individual.

6. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use first‑party and third‑party cookies and local storage to:

  • Keep you logged in and record session state;

  • Remember preferences (e.g., dark mode);

  • Analyze traffic and usage trends;

  • Deliver targeted advertisements on and off the Services.

You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner or via your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Account data – kept while your account is active. Deleted or anonymized within 30 days after closure unless retention is legally required.

  • Subscription & billing records – retained for 7 years (or longer where law mandates) for tax/accounting compliance.

  • Usage logs – anonymized or deleted within 12 months.

8. Security Measures

We employ industry‑standard safeguards, including HTTPS/SSL, encryption at rest and in transit, role‑based access controls, routine vulnerability scans, and employee security training. No method of transmission is entirely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords and enable 2‑factor authentication where available.
